Food that is awful; junk, trash; anything disgusting, even loathsome (Yiddish כאַזער, from Heb.חזיר  “khazir,” pig).

Eg– “Ben, before going to sleep, could you please clean up all that chazerai?”

    I’m not sure that it always has to do with food.
    I understood it to mean “junk.”
    Another site defines it as garbage, junk; junky, unsubstantial stuff
